08 Jul One Cart – The Future is Digital
The future is digital and I’m so excited about it!
Let me tell you about my weekend, I’d had a long week, been working a fair amount of overtime, and I’ve been super stressed out. I’ve been meaning to pick up some groceries, but the shops close at 6pm and I’m not even half way through my work at that time. So, it’s been drive through take-aways for the past 4 nights. By the time this weekend came, I just wanted to relax and hibernate in the comfort of my own home.
This is what my Saturday looked like, I woke up, had a cup of coffee with no milk…because I didn’t have any, showered, got changed into fresh pyjamas and fluffy socks, did a face mask and binge watched series. Come lunch time, I realise the cupboards are still bare. This adulting thing is not easy. I’ve got coco-pops but no milk, pasta but no sauce and bread but no Nutella. Rather than risk leaving the house in this cold, having to potentially talk to people, trolleys hitting my ankles or running into my ex when I’m not looking like the best thing that never happened to him, I decided to do my grocery shopping from the comfort of my Cori craft couch. This is my little secret http://www.onecart.co.za
One Cart is an online platform that feature shops like Woolworths, Pick ‘n Pay, Dischem, Fit Chef, and more. Anything you need, in one place, in one cart. Within 2 hours all your essentials will be delivered straight to your door. I’m not joking, this is a real thing! You can even select a time for your groceries to be delivered, up to a week in advance. I am thinking of having my monthly shop delivered to my office at 5pm next week so I can take it straight home and start prepping dinner! All the convenience, none of the hassle.
So, what’s on my list?
Let’s start with Dischem: BioStrath multivitamins and some BioImmune. Ain’t nobody got time to get sick this Winter, ah ah!
Woolies: Broccoli and cauliflower noodles, basil pesto and feta for lunch and some butternut soup and rye bread for dinner……. Let’s not forget a sneaky packet of Chuckles while we are here!
Two episodes of 13 reasons why later, and ding dong! Ok, more like the guard house called me to say someone’s at the gate for me. I let them in, no cash, no story, no fuss. I was shocked by how quick it was and everything was there – nothing was forgotten. Within a matter of hours, I had made dinner, done two loads of washing, popped some immune boosters and polished off the bag of Chuckles… on my own.
