30 Aug Santa Shoebox Project opens corporate pledging for 2019
Have you heard about the Santa Shoebox Project? Maybe you want to get involved by aren’t quite sure how? Carry on reading and we will gently unpack everything you need to know about this feel-good initiative.
The Santa Shoebox Project has been around for 14 years. It has had longevity because people continue to support it. As of 1 September, corporate South Africa can help this initiative collect and distribute gifts to underprivileged children throughout South Africa and Namibia. To date, the organisation has reached over 850 000 children and in 2019 they hope to reach another 100 000 children. Please help us make that goal a reality.
It is the generosity of the public, as well as corporates that have helped the Santa Shoebox Project reach so many children. Companies can now pledge their shoeboxes and it’s easier than ever. When more than 20 shoeboxes are pledged, Stor-Age, a main sponsor of the Santa Shoebox Project, will arrange free delivery of the flat-packed shoeboxes within a 40km radius of any Stor-Age store nationwide. Companies can also collect their shoeboxes from any Stor-Age store once they have pledged.
Corporate donors play a huge role each year, supporting the project in reaching its goals. The Santa Shoebox Project is an ideal beneficiary of corporate CSI, being a Section 18A PBO able to issue tax-deductible certificates in recognition of donations. Pledging and packing Shoeboxes is also great fun and an excellent team-building exercise!
If your company is interested in making a pledge this year, simply email the Santa Shoebox Project at firstname.lastname@example.org with the following details:
- Your name and contact information
- Your company name and physical address
- The number of shoeboxes you’d like to pledge
The Santa Shoebox Project will assist with the coordination of your pledge and arrange for delivery of the boxes (subject to availability), after which donors can begin to fill them with the following items: a toothbrush, toothpaste, facecloth, soap, toy, outfit of clothing, school supplies and sweets. During October, completed Shoeboxes can be dropped off at any Stor-Age store nationwide and they’ll arrange delivery to the Santa Shoebox Drop Off events later in October and in November.
The Santa Shoebox team is confident that it’s going to be a bumper year! We look forward to welcoming you to our Drop Offs.”
